Itinerary

Day 1:From Fes to the Atlas Heartlands

The adventure begins in Fes, where narrow alleys echo with centuries of history. As you head south, the medieval city gives way to fresh mountain air and Alpine charm in Ifrane, Morocco’s surprising ski resort. Wander beneath the towering cedars of Azrou, home to playful Barbary macaques, before continuing toward the mineral-rich landscapes of Midelt. Cross into the Ziz Valley, where an oasis of palms stretches toward the desert horizon. You’ll arrive in Erfoud or Merzouga, your gateway to the Sahara, where the scent of sand and spice sets the tone for what lies ahead.

Day 2: Dunes of Gold, Culture of Sand

Awaken on the edge of the desert and spend the morning exploring Merzouga’s local life – from the soulful Gnawa rhythms of Khamlia village to fossil workshops and nomadic settlements tucked among the dunes. In the late afternoon, your camel caravan awaits. Ride into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes, their golden waves glowing in the setting sun. Arrive at a luxury desert camp, where Berber hospitality welcomes you with traditional food, music, and storytelling around the fire. Beneath a sky filled with stars, you’ll sleep in serenity only the desert can offer.

Day 3:Fossils, Fortresses, and the Dades Valley

After a sunrise you’ll never forget, return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga for breakfast. Then begin your journey west through the fossil-rich landscapes of Rissani and Tinghir. Marvel at the towering red walls of the Todra Gorges, a natural canyon perfect for light trekking and photography. Continue along the Dades Valley, where earth-toned kasbahs cling to canyon walls and the winding “Monkey Fingers” road offers breathtaking panoramas. Overnight in a charming guesthouse or kasbah-style hotel nestled in this dramatic and peaceful valley.

Day 4 :The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs

Travel through the cinematic corridor of the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, where history lives in crumbling walls and fortified villages. Stop in Skoura, home to the famous Kasbah Amridil, and then explore Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Film lovers may visit Atlas Studios or the historic Taourirt Kasbah. By afternoon, arrive at the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-protected ksar that has stood for centuries. After exploring this red-clay marvel, rest in a nearby riad where the High Atlas Mountains loom in the distance.

Day 5 :Over the Mountains, Into the Red City

After breakfast, set off toward Marrakech via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, a high-altitude drive with panoramic views of Berber villages and mountain valleys. Wind through steep cliffs, past nomadic shepherds and terraced farms, until the land flattens and the ochre walls of Marrakech come into view. Arrive in the late afternoon, where the call to prayer echoes from the minarets and the buzz of Jemaa el-Fnaa marks the end of your journey. From desert calm to city energy, you’ll arrive with memories etched in every mile.
